STEP 01
Describe the current process
Describe where the operation starts and ends, which departments participate and where difficulties arise. Include exceptions: they are part of the process and may change the solution's scope.
- Process start, stages and completion
- Users and responsible parties
- Common problems and exceptions
STEP 02
Define the change you want to see
Explain what your team should be able to do with the solution. Distinguish essential first-stage needs from features that can be added later. Data about the current problem helps establish a baseline.
- Expected outcome
- First-stage priorities
- How you will verify that the process works
STEP 03
Identify systems and dependencies
List the applications and information sources involved. The availability of interfaces, access and technical contacts influences integration options and the work plan.
- Related applications and data
- Available interfaces, if known
- People who can validate rules and information
STEP 04
Agree on how decisions will be made
Decide who approves the scope and who will review the work with users. A discovery phase can help clarify pending decisions before preparing a proposal and planning development.
- Decision maker
- Review participants
- Scope and deliverables to agree on
Use examples and demonstration data to prepare a demo. Share confidential information only through the channels and with the access agreed for your project.
